I’m combining my two blogs.
I’m leaving the other one up, just because I don’t want to lose those posts.
I’ll have photography and words over here.
It’s for simplicity’s sake.

Here’s a quick and easy way to remember how to format your prayers…
Acknowledgment (praising)
Thanks
Confession (acknowledge sin, or admit to it)
Supplication (asking)
When you confess your sins, don’t keep on sinning! Repent! Turn from your sin and don’t do it again.
Some times, we think that God is just a super Walmart. So we ask Him for that new CD we want, or that shirt we saw at the mall, and we completely miss the fact that prayer is supposed to be a conversation. God wants to communicate with us, not just hear our shopping list.
But the beautiful thing about this system is that the first three set you up perfectly for the last one. When you are praising God for who He is, thanking Him for everything He’s done for you, and confessing your sins, your mind becomes more focused on what God desires, rather than what you want.
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
-1 John 5:14
It’s not a perfect format, but I think it helps a lot to get your focus on God while you’re praying.
